Si Mis Casas Hablaran
Si Mis Casas Hablaran ("If My Houses Could Speak") is a visual diary stitched from memory, motherhood, and migration — a series of photographs revisiting the homes where I once lived, transformed through hand embroidery into portals of healing. It began in the summer of 2023, as my mother prepared to return to Peru and my daughter left for college, and what started as a way to hold onto Miami became something deeper: an emotional excavation of stories I hadn't yet spoken aloud. Weaving the seen and the felt, the physical and the spiritual. Each house became a chapter in my self-portrait, a place where love and trauma coexist and where creating becomes a ritual of repair. In the end, this series isn't just about the places I've lived — it's about everything I've carried with me all along: my mother's courage, my daughter's laughter, and my own reclaimed voice.
