Meta reached out because they wanted to feature the bond I share with my mother and my daughter on their Instagram International Women's Day post. The week they asked turned out to be the last week the three of us would share a city. My mother was leaving to rebuild her house in Peru. My daughter Luna was leaving for college abroad. I was about to become what I had quietly always been: a nomad artist with no fixed address. So I set up the camera and asked the women in my family to stand in front of it one more time before the leap. These photographs are three generations who share a single bond, at the threshold of separation. We didn't yet know what each of us was becoming. We only knew we had to jump to find out.
