Travel | Mexico 1: Sandos Caracol in Playa del Carmen

When Drea tells you to go to Mexico, you say YES. And that’s exactly what we did two weeks ago. We visited Playa Del Carmen and Stayed at Sandos Caracol Eco Resort. I wanted to include all the photos of our trip in one post but felt like Sandos deserved one of its own. That place has everything you need and it was really tempting to want to stay there forever. It was my first time at an “all inclusive” hotel and it was a bit strange knowing that you can order unlimited mimosas and tequila and get up after you’re done. No bill, no waiting; pretty fantastic.

Besides the unlimited tequila, I was happy to find out that all of the animals living on the property were adopted and were well cared for. They also have a many of fun daily activities and shows at night. My favorite activity was the cenote snorkeling. I didn’t do much snorkeling since I forgot my contact lenses but just swimming in fresh water felt so great. I learned that Mayans thought of them as spiritual wells and a way to communicate with their gods. It was definitely relaxing. Drea doesn’t enjoy cold(ish) water but she braved it like a pro. (see last photo).

I’m pretty sure I’ll be back, but this time I’m bringing Luna with me since all I could think about was how much she would love it there. Mexico part 2 coming soon!
